Attending University & College: Is It Necessary?

I strongly believe that people should attend universities. It's the first institution where you can develop yourself both intellectually and socially. Moreover, it's a great place to meet new friends. In my opinion, it was the best times of my life. I met my best friend at university. I will try to examine below the specific reasons for my belief that people should attend universities.

Firstly, a degree from a reputable university is an important key that leads you to a better life. It enables to reach better opportunities. When I think about the most powerful men/women in the world, I see that they are either graduated from a reputable university or dropped out of a reputable university. Thus, in my opinion, having an education from a reputable university can widen your horizons. 

Secondly, we should remember the motto "sky is the limit". The world is changing at a fast speed today. As technology advances, knowledge increases. In order to catch today, we should constantly keep learning. Moreover, everyone has heard the term "Industry 4.0", in which robots will be employed to decrease the costs by companies. Unskilled labors will be out of the employment field in a near future; because the qualifications required for labors today have changed. Robots are able to do the simplest jobs today with a lower cost to the employer. In order to not to be out of employment field, we should develop yourself, and thus be a qualified labor.

Thirdly, there are billions of people live on the earth. A good job leads you to have a better life. In order to have a good job, you need to differentiate yourself, and thus, being better than most of the candidates. Having a degree from a university is one of the best ways to differentiate yourself from others. It does not only increase your knowledge, but also leads you a better life.

In conclusion, Attending a university is the first step you take into a new life. Everyone should get out of their comfort zones. People mostly start universities at 18 - the age when you are no longer an underage. It's the first institution in which everyone assumes you as a grown-up. Besides, it is the first place you realize that your family can't protect you forever, therefore you need to take care of yourself. In short, attending a university will help you to develop yourself in many aspects.
