Netflix's "Think Global, Act Local" Strategy

I really like good marketing strategies. And Netflix is on the top of my list. Because they are great at "think global, act local" principle. Each country has differet sense of humour and specific features. Netflix is aware of that, and use these features in its ads in a great way. They observe nations and broadcast ads like a local company with local features.

For instance, Cali Cartel used Istanbul as one of the regional distribution centers in the 1990s.

Netflix decided to use this information for one of its ads in Turkey, and rent a ship going through the Bosphorus. And posted the ad with a description: 20 years later, they are back!

Just imagine yourself walking beside the Bosphorus, and see this giant ship with a Netflix ad. I would scream like "THIS. JUST. MADE. MY. DAY."

Now, marketing is everything for a brand. If you want to be a big player, you need to know how to get people excited.

Especially digital marketing is an important tool. I studied on a survey in the last year of my education, and found out that now traditional channels are not as popular as its old days. My study showed that people are likely to take action more in digital channels.

The era of Television is over. It is the era of Digital. Now people want to watch whatever they want whenever they want. Netflix services operate in over 190 countries. As Netflix expanded its streaming services, its popularity among young people grows bigger.
