Nimic Review: A Short Film by Yorgos Lanthimos (Contains Spoiler)

Yorgos Lanthimos is one of the best-known directors from Greece. He's known for his dystopic movies, such as Dogtooth, The Lobster, and The Killing of a Sacred Deer. I get excited to watch his movies. So, I get the same feeling when I heard he directed a short film named Nimic. It was on my watch list and thanks to Mubi, I managed to watch it! It's a short film but that doesn't mean it's an easy-to-watch movie given the fact that it was directed by Lanthimos. Let's talk about the movie: A guy, who is married and father to 2 kids, asked a random woman "have you got the time?" in the subway, and the guy's life has changed forever. The woman starts copying the guy's behaviors. She follows him home and declares that she's the father. Mother and kids were surprised and not sure who is the father. The family starts testing both of them. Because the woman does everything the father does. And in the end, they decided that she is the father. Well...

A Review of Dogs of Berlin (A Netflix Original Series)

"We were born to the law, rules, ethics and morals of the moment we were born. Which one can we choose?" Dogs of Berlin Netflix has released a new original series made by Germans called Dogs of Berlin . The topic of the series is described on Netflix as "Two cops investigate the murder of a famous Turkish-German soccer player, but one of them has underworld connections that mire the case in controversy." I took German lectures in High school, and watching series or movies in German encourages me to learn German again. Therefore, I enjoy watching them. So, when I saw the ad of Dogs of Berlin , I knew that I would watch it. Dark was the first German series I watched on Netflix. Hence, I started to watch the show with great expectations. The first episodes were kinda boring to me but I wanted to continue watching. And I'm glad I did! As a Turk, it's weird to watch Turks situation in Germany.
